Costs can vary greatly in Jamaica, depending if you go the all inclusive route, or if you book your own boutique hotels and rentals. Supermarkets are expensive as alot of produce is imported, however local bars and restaurants are on the cheaper side. Pay in Jamaican dollar where possible, as you may not a get a great exchange rate if paying in USD.

Getting around Jamaica

We rented a car and drove around Jamaica. However, some of the roads were really rough, with lots of pot holes. Take caution when driving, avoid driving at night, and don’t leave valuables in your car.
