Ingredients

  • 1.5 Cups Plain Flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil (or olive oil)
  • 1/2 cup Water

Toppings

  • 1 tsp Pink Himalayan salt (or sea salt)
  • Optional toppings: Rosemary, poppy-seeds, Dukkar, Pepper, Sesame seeds etc

Instructions

  • Warm the oven to 230°C (450°F)
  • Mix together the flour and salt in a large bowl
  • Add the oil and water to the mixture and stir until a dough is formed. You can add a little extra water if some dry flour remains
  • Sprinkle your work surface with flour, and roll out the dough into a rectangle until its about 1/2cm thick
  • Brush the surface of the dough with some coconut oil (or olive oil)
  • Sprinkle your toppings on the dough (salts, seeds)
  • Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut the dough into cracker sized pieces
  • Transfer crackers to baking paper using a spatula and prick them with a fork
  • Bake for 10-15minutes depending on crispness. You want the edges of the crackers to brown.
  • Let the crackers cool (preferably on a wire rack)
  • Store the crackers in an airtight container (best eaten on the same day)
